  • Short biography: MBAWALA Augustin performed his higher school studies at the University of Yaounde (Cameroon) where he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Natural Sciences in 1981 and at the University of Nancy I (France) where he defended brilliantly a PhD thesis in Biology Applied to Nutrition and Bio-industries in 1990. Actually, he is a Lecturer/Researcher and Head of the Laboratory of Food Microbiology and Biotechnology (LFMB) in the Department Food Sciences and Nutrition (FSN) of the National School of Agro-Industrial Sciences (ENSAI) of the University of Ngaoundere (Cameroon). He has been promoted at the grade of Professor since May 2020. He is working in collaboration with Researchers from University Institutes of Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Presently, he has achieved successfully a research project allowed by the “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)” and moreover, he has co-signed a project with “The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS)” which is also ended. He is the author and co-author of at least 32 papers published in Journals with high impact factor. He is the corresponding author of a book published on Technological Process, Utilizations and Challenges of Indigenous Fermented Milks from Cameroon and Chad. Actually, his research team is working on a project concerning the utilizations of capsules of Bioemulsifiers/Biosurfactants to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and other diseases due to enveloped viruses.
