Research areas: Study of rural dynamics, management, development and valorization of forest resources (wood and non-wood forest products), management of family farms (Agroforestry) and forestry of fruit trees and woody species in dry areas.
Short biography: Oumarou PALOU MADI holds a PhD in Management Sciences defended in 2010 with very honorable mention at the University of Toulouse Le Mirail, in France. His doctoral research focused on the model of the determinants of the management of Acacia senegal plantations and the development of the gum arabic sector. Dr Oumarou PALOU MADI is very interested in transversal scientific activities for the development of agricultural and pastoral product chains and non-timber forest products. Dr Oumarou PALOU MADI is a Senior Researcher in the Biodiversity, Forests and Environment Division at IRAD (Institute of Agricultural Research for Development); he is currently the Head of the Agricultural Research Center of Wakwa, Ngaoundere. He has coordinated and coordinates several research and development projects carried out at IRAD. Between 2012 and 2015, he taught theoretical and practical courses on the notion of Innovation and the adoption of agricultural innovations in levels 3 and Master 1 at the ISS, which became Ecole Polytechnique de Maroua, Cameroon. He worked on the drafting of the development strategy document for the cashew sector in Cameroon. He co-directs PhD theses in national and international universities. Dr Oumarou PALOU MADI has published 22 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 2 contributions to books and 10 communications in national and international conferences.
