• Research areas: Modeling, control and optimization applied to physical and life sciences (Epidemiology and ecology, stochastic or deterministic scheduling, maintenance policy and production management, management and allocation of resources, regulation of machines and processes).
  • Short biography: David Jaurès FOTSA MBOGNE holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics defended in 2017 with honors at the University of Ngaoundéré, Cameroon. His PhD research work focused on modeling, optimal control and observation of the dynamics of coffee berry anthracnose. Dr. Fotsa is very interested in cross cutting scientific activities that valorize mathematical and computational tools for modeling, simulation, analysis and optimization of physical and life sciences for development assistance. Dr. Fotsa is currently Senior Lecturer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Sciences Agro-industrielles (ENSAI) of the University of Ngaoundéré where he teaches theoretical and practical courses in computer science and programming, probability, statistics and design of experiments, numerical methods, operations research and optimization, discrete mathematics, linear algebra and analysis, and chemical reactor modeling. He works for the applications and popularization of mathematics by leading the team of students of the University of Ngaoundéré of the Cameroon chapter of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Dr. FOTSA has published 8 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and 6 papers in national and international conferences.
